SANTA CLARA COUNTY – Three people were killed in separate crashes over the weekend in southern Santa Clara County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The first incident happened around 5:10 p.m. Saturday on Highway 101 near the Sargent overcrossing. The CHP said officers arrived to find a damaged Honda motorcycle and its rider nearby with serious injuries.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 45-year-old Watsonville woman, died from her injuries according to the CHP.
The second collision, which also involved a motorcycle, happened around 2:40 p.m. Sunday on Highway 152 at Ferguson Road. The CHP said a Harley-Davidson crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 34-year-old San Jose man, died from his injuries, according to the CHP.
The third incident happened roughly two hours later on Bolsa Road, north of Bloomfield Road. The CHP said a Ford F-150 crashed head-on into a Toyota pickup.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as a 56-year-old Aptos man, died from his injuries, according to the CHP.
Meanwhile, the other driver tried to leave the scene on foot but collapsed, the CHP said, adding that the person was arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene of a crash.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the three people who died once they are confirmed and their next of kin are identified.
The crashes are under investigation and no potential causes have been ruled out, according to the CHP.
