Warriors’ Draymond Green, Yaxel Lendeborg make free agency pitches to LeBron James

Draymond Green shared details about his much-publicized recent hang out with unrestricted free agent LeBron James.

On the latest episode of his “Draymond Green Show,” Green expressed incredulity at the amount of discussion that him hanging out with his friend caused.

“And so I think us hanging out or us kicking it together, golfing together, whatever it is, I don’t think it’s really that newsworthy,” Green said. “Because it’s not like, ‘Oh my God, they’ve never hung out before and now all of a sudden free agency is going on and they’re hanging out.’ ”

Green is also an unrestricted free agent, but he is expected to re-sign with the Warriors later this offseason. He declined his player option to give the team more financial flexibility.

Though Green insisted the highlight of his trip was the amount of golf they played, he did add that he made his pitch to James, a fellow Klutch Sports Agency client, for why he should join the Warriors.

“Of course I did that and of course the pitch was crazy,” Green said, adding. “You know, I’d be crazy if we’re together for X amount of days and at no point am I like ‘Y’all, we need to chop it up like what the hell going on, What’s what we doing?’ ”

Green did not elaborate on what the selling points of the pitch were.

The Warriors are one of the 10 teams that Klutch CEO Rich Paul has said has a realistic chance at signing James.

Green is not the only Warrior to publicly state why James, who played against the Warriors in four consecutive NBA Finals between 2015-18, should presumably end his career in the Bay Area.

Steph Curry spoke about James at a celebrity golf tournament in Tahoe last week, and on Sunday afternoon Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg took the microphone during a Bleacher Report interview to give his two cents.

“I know you don’t like rookies that much, but I’m not your average rookie and I would love to learn under you,” Lendeborg, nicknamed the “Dominican LeBron,” said. “When you’re looking to play with the greatest shooter of all time and a close friend of Draymond. We’ll be glad to have you.”
