MOUNTAIN VIEW — A Baptist church has bought a South Bay building that had been part of a foreclosed tech campus in a deal that gives the religious organization control of adjacent properties.

New Community Baptist Church paid $16.5 million for a research and development building at 850-900 N. Shoreline Blvd. in Mountain View, documents filed on July 8 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office show.
With the just-completed purchase, the church now owns adjacent properties: the tech building on Shoreline and the organization’s existing church at 1250 W. Middlefield Road.
The 850 N. Shoreline building totals 31,300 square feet and was built in 1969.
The seller in the deal was an affiliate of Citi Real Estate Funding, which is the lender that in September 2025 seized that building and several others through a foreclosure of a failed loan for the Mountain View tech campus.

At the time of the foreclosure, the lender took ownership of a 10-building campus known as Terra Bella Tech Park.
City Real Estate Funding’s affiliate valued the campus at $100 million through the foreclosure proceeding. The unpaid loan debt was $130.6 million, Santa Clara County real estate documents show.
The property that the church bought represents the first sale of one of the buildings that were taken back through the loan foreclosure.
