GILROY — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision Tuesday night in Gilroy, police said.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at 10th and Monterey streets, according to the Gilroy Police Department. Officers arrived to find a person suffering from major injuries.
Police said the pedestrian died from their injuries at the scene.
The person’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.
The suspect vehicle was found a short time later, police said, but the suspect was still at large Wednesday.

“The investigation into this hit-and-run collision remains active as investigators work to identify the driver,” police said.
