SAN JOSE – PWHL San Jose has added forward Brooke Bryant to its roster, signing the Northern California native and former Jr. Shark to a one-year deal announced Wednesday.

San Jose now has 13 players under contract for the upcoming season, which begins late this year.
Bryant, a Linden native, became the first California native to play in the PWHL in 2022 when she debuted with Minnesota. She won back-to-back Walter Cup titles with the team before she played last season with the Seattle Torrent. Bryant
Bryant, who has six points in 71 career PWHL games, played five seasons at Minnesota State University and won gold with Team USA at the 2024 Inline Hockey World Championship.

Bryant, 25, played with the San Jose Jr. Sharks 12-under team that won the Pacific District Championship in 2012, and competed at that year’s USA Hockey Tier II National Championships.
Bryant, then 11, told the Stockton Record that her goal was to play in the Olympics. The Jr. Sharks 12-under coach at the time, Rick Burke, didn’t doubt her, saying he was impressed when he first saw Bryant play at an all-girls hockey camp the previous summer.
“I remember she had an injury problem at the time, but she’s a tough kid and a hockey player. She skated through it,” Burke told the Record. “Talk about driven. This kid is extremely driven with natural athletic ability.”
