OAKLAND — Police are investigating an apparent pistol whipping and kidnapping of a woman Friday night, authorities said.

As of Tuesday, the woman was still missing and no arrests had been made.
Police said the violence happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 4200 block of Redding Street in the Laurel district.
Police said a man was seen striking a screaming woman with a gun and forcing her into a dark colored, four-door sedan that was last seen driving westbound on Redding Street.
The woman is described as white, approximately 30 to 32 years old and about 130 pounds. Her height, hair color, and eye color are unknown.

The suspect was described as Black, approximately 30 to 32 years old, standing about 5 feet 10 inches and and weighing approximately 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue-and-white pants and was armed with a black Glock-style handgun.
Police are trying to determine if the two knew each other and what prompted the beating and abduction. Investigators are also reviewing missing persons’ reports from other cities.
