SAN JOSE — A woman died early Sunday morning after being shot and “a person of interest” was apprehended, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of Bonita Avenue and Sunny Court, where they found the woman who suffered from at least one gunshot wound, police said.
The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

“A person of interest was arrested nearby. The SJPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident,” said the police.

Additional details are expected to be released on Monday, the department said.
