The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies responded to a report of a seven-year-old girl attacked by multiple dogs in Corning on Saturday, June 27. The girl was transported to an out-of-area trauma center, and six dogs were seized as evidence in the incident.

The TCSO stated officers received a call of a multiple-dog attack around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The attack was said to take place in the Barham Avenue and Bosque Avenue area of Corning. The seven-year-old victim resides in the area.
The Sheriff’s Office stated the girl had “significant” injuries to her scalp and legs. She was initially taken to a local hospital, before being transferred out of the area for more advanced treatment.
The girl’s parents were with her at the hospital, at the time of the Sheriff’s press release on Saturday, and the victim’s condition was unknown. The TCSO stated identities would not be released at this time.

“Deputies responded to the scene, conducted numerous interviews with witnesses, and processed the area where the attack occurred,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “As part of the investigation, six dogs believed to be involved in the incident were seized as evidence and transported to the Tehama County Animal Shelter.”
The TCSO stated that the investigation is ongoing and that additional information will be shared when it is available and appropriate.
