CROCKETT — A local rap artist was charged with attempted murder for allegedly firing a shot at someone in a parking lot that reaches under the Carquinez Bridge, court records show.

Tino Abbate, 24, who performs under the stage name “Top Shotta,” was charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, shooting into an occupied car and possessing a gun with a prior felony conviction. He is due for trial in August, court records show.
Abbate was identified within days of the November 2025 shooting. Police allege he was seen approaching the intersection of Ceres Street and 6th Avenue in Crockett a little before 2 p.m. in a white Camry and fired once at an occupied car before speeding off.
He was held to answer on the charges at a December 2025 preliminary hearing and posted $200,000 bail for his release from jail shortly thereafter, court records show. He has pleaded not guilty.

He was identified as a suspect in the Crockett shooting in part because the entire thing was captured by security cameras aimed at the parking lot. Investigators say they were familiar with Abbate, who has addresses in Rodeo and Crockett, from prior contacts and from reviewing his social media accounts and music videos.
Police said Abbate has a 2021 murder conviction, in Alameda County, but that he was released from jail because he was prosecuted as a juvenile. Just 10 days after posting bail, Abbate posted a picture to his Instagram page showing a masked man fanning out a large amount of currency.
“They will really pray on yo down fall,” the caption reads. “Can’t give ’em what they want.”
