‘New gas batch’: Police raid Oakland apartment of suspected cocaine dealer

OAKLAND — A local resident has been arrested and charged with selling cocaine and marijuana, after Dublin police spent months tracking his movements, his bank account transactions, and phone activity, court records show.

What police say they found was that Amed Arabzai, 29, regularly drove around the Bay Area, from San Pablo and Hercules, to Larkspur and San Rafael, to Emeryville and Alameda, sometimes only stopping at residences for a few seconds at a time. He allegedly rented a $3,700/month hotel on the 1900 block of Broadway Avenue with purported $120,000 yearly income from a company whose existences police couldn’t verify, and in text conversations, he allegedly sent videos of a kilogram brick of suspected cocaine and bragged about possessing about 30 pounds, or roughly $170,000 of the drug, according to court records.

But the main evidence against Arabzai came May 13, when police raided his apartment and allegedly found two pounds of cocaine and two pounds of marijuana, along with a single gram of MDMA. Arabzai, who was released on $20,000 bond, has been charged with felony counts of possessing cocaine and MDMA for sale and a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, court records show.

The investigation into Arabzai started with a January raid on a Hayward suspected drug dealer, Allen Williams III, who Dublin police say was observed selling crack cocaine. When Williams’ Hayward home was raided, police seized more than 100 tablets of methamphetamine that he claimed was for personal use. They also located two assault rifles and a cellphone, which contained communications with Arabzai, according to court records.

Throughout 2025, the two men reportedly discussed drug deals for MDMA, hundreds of Xanax pills, cocaine, including last December when Arabzai allegedly sent Williams the video of cocaine and bragged about having a “new gas batch,” authorities said. Williams was charged with possessing methamphetamine for sale while armed and is out of jail, having posted $170,000 bail.

Both men have pleaded not guilty and are due in July for their separate cases.
