OAKLAND — A 20-year-old El Sobrante man was wounded multiple times Tuesday morning in the San Antonio section of East Oakland when dozens of shots were fired at a car he was a passenger in, authorities said.

The driver was uninjured.
The shooting happened about 4:27 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of International Boulevard.
According to initial police reports, the 20-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, whose residence was not immediately known, were driving in a BMW sedan when at least one person, and possibly more, began shooting at them. It has not been determined if the shots were fired from another vehicle or from someone on the street.
A gunshot detection alert system recorded more than three dozen shots fired, authorities said.

The 20-year-old man was hit twice in the leg, authorities said. The car the men were in had numerous bullet holes, police said.
The men drove to a hospital where the wounded man was in stable condition.
Authorities said the two men were uncooperative with officers at the hospital.
Why the men were in the area of the shooting and a motive for the shooting have not yet been determined. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
