An intricately crafted blouse believed to have belonged to Sarah Winchester will be on loan to the San Jose tourist attraction from the Campbell Museum for a limited time beginning on the Winchester estate’s 103rd anniversary celebration on Tuesday, June 30. The blouse will be placed on public view in Sarah Winchester’s bedroom.

The garment is believed to have been gifted by Winchester to Minnie Yeager Hall to play dress-up when Minnie was a child. The Yeager family owned a ranch on nearby Moorpark Avenue.
“Objects directly connected to Sarah Winchester are exceedingly rare, and this blouse provides an intimate window into her life,” said Walter Magnuson, executive director of Winchester Mystery House, in a release.

Resourceful partnerships
San Jose’s Valle Monte League is partnering with two mental health organizations to expand its resources.
Operation Freedom Paws is a nonprofit specializing in service dog training and canine-assisted therapeutic programming that supports veterans, children and adults coping with trauma, anxiety, PTSD and other mental health challenges.

Parents Helping Parents is focused on empowering families of children with emotional, behavioral or mental health needs. They provide parent-to-parent support, advocacy training, resource navigation and workshops that build caregiver resilience and improve access to services for youth.
The nonprofit league has a longstanding partnership with Hearts & Minds Activity Center, a nonprofit day program for persons living with dementia that provides individualized services, with customized activities designed to slow cognitive decline, as well as family caregiver education, support and guidance.

WILLOW GLEN>>Cancer CAREpoint is relocating its offices to the Garden Theater Building, 1165 Lincoln Ave., Suite 300, effective July 1. The nonprofit, which provides support services for cancer patients and survivors, as well as their family and caregivers, says the move will allow staff “to continue serving our community with compassionate support and care in a larger space.”
The move comes about 2½ years after Cancer CAREpoint relocated to to 2512 Samaritan Court in San Jose’s Cambrian neighborhood.
