Milpitas is once again celebrating the Fourth of July with Red, White and Boom, featuring a city‑sponsored fireworks display.and activities for all ages.

Families can enjoy a 24‑foot water slide, bounce houses, a rock‑climbing wall and the challenge of the Jacobs Ladder inflatable. Gamers can explore the Game Action Video Game Trailer stocked with the latest PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch titles.
Other activities include an “American Gladiator” joust, an ax throwing game, a football accuracy challenge and carnival games including the High Striker, where players swing a mallet to see if they have the strength to ring the bell.
Red, White and Boom runs 5-9 p.m.at the Milpitas Sports Center, 1325 E. Calaveras Blvd. Tickets are $8 general, $11 at the door. Kids ages 2 and younger are $3.

Prices for kids area tickets vary by activity and will be available for purchase onsite with cards only, no cash. Every attendee must have their own ticket.

Geology rocks!
The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority is hosting a virtual lunchtime program on June 26 about the rocks and minerals of Máyyan ‘Ooyákma-Coyote Ridge. The authority’s educational program coordinator will lead a Zoom session about the state rock serpentinite and the tectonic forces that have shaped California’s landscape.
