BERKELEY — A Vallejo man has been charged with sexual abuse of a teen girl who reported being assaulted last year after he agreed to sell her a marijuana vape pen near Berkeley High School, court records show.

Uriel Alegre-Rangel, 22, was charged with a felony count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. He has been released from jail while the case is pending and pleaded not guilty on June 10, records show.
The charges were filed on May 20, months after the girl first reported the attack. Alegre-Rangel was arrested last December so that police could take his DNA, which was matched to the girl’s rape test kit, authorities said.
The alleged victim told police that Alegre-Rangel is known for selling cannabis and tobacco to Berkeley High students, and that she contacted him on social media to buy a vape pen. Early in their conversation she identified herself as a 16-year-old girl, police said.

She told police that during their encounter last October, he tried to kiss her then “sighed” when he declined, according to court records. Police say he then allegedly “grabbed the victim’s wrists and held her down…then removed the victim’s pants and underwear against her will and engaged in sexual intercourse.”
After the alleged assault, Alegre-Rangel drove the girl back to school so she could resume class, authorities said. Police searched through his Instagram accounts, @stackdollaaa and @bayareasupplierrrr as part of the investigation, according to court records.

The next court date has been set for Aug. 10, court records show.
