Taste of Milpitas
The City of Milpitas is hosting a free, all-ages outdoor event June 20 at the Milpitas Community Center. Taste of Milpitas will feature a variety of local food vendors, a live concert stage, community entertainment from 3-9 p.m. and a World Cup watch party at 5 p.m.

Food booths include Meat Time, Taishoken, Ume Tea, Crepe Shibuya, Pizza Guys Milpitas and Jaden’s Kettle Corn. Food trucks will be on site from Takoz Mod Mex, Me Oi Viet Mom’s Table, Chubby’s Chick’n, I Love Cheesesteak and Mister Softee.
The bands Relative Key and Good Time Collective will provide live music. Community performance groups taking the stage include School of Indian Dance, Viet Steps, Blue Dragon Taekwondo, MANOS Folklórico, Young at Hearts of St. Elizabeth and groups from the Barbara Lee Senior Center.

Happy Birds, Pop and Go Puppets
Happy Birds are coming to the Milpitas Library on June 20 for two shows, from 2-3 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. These famous feathered friends have been featured on “The Tonight Show” and “The Ellen Show” and perform tricks including riding a bike, singing songs and playing basketball.

On June 24 Pop and Go Puppets will perform “Rumplestuntskin” at 3:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. In this updated fairy tale, moto-daredevil Rumplestuntskin knows the secret to awesome motorcycle stunts and is willing to share it, for a price.
These events are part of this year’s summer reading program, “Plant a Seed, Read.” Tickets are free but are required for entry and can be picked up 30 minutes before each performance. There’s a limit of two adults per family.
