San Francisco man shot to death driving in Oakland

OAKLAND — Police said that a 41-year-old San Francisco man was shot and killed Sunday morning while driving a Tesla in a residential neighborhood along Seminary Avenue, near International Boulevard.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Seminary Avenue, and the shots came from somewhere outside the car, Oakland police said. The man was declared dead at the scene; his identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

Homicide investigators are still trying to determine what brought the man to that neighborhood and a motive for the shooting.  No suspects are in custody.

The man’s death marks the 24th homicide in Oakland in 2026. At the same time last year, there had been 35 homicides.
