OAKLAND — The partially decomposed remains of a man were found Tuesday in a grave at a West Oakland homeless encampment, authorities said.

Authorities were trying to identify the man. An autopsy will determine his exact cause of death.
Authorities said they were treating the case as a suspicious circumstance death investigation

The body was found about 2 p.m. Tuesday in a grave at a homeless camp in the 500 block of 34th Street. Exactly how long the man had been there is not known.
Until his name is confirmed, police are not able to say if he lived at the camp or elsewhere.
