LAFAYETTE — About 30 to 40 people will participate in a disaster response training scenario Saturday, authorities said.

The training will happen from 9 a.m. to noon in the 3400 block of Mount Diablo Boulevard, across from the Lafayette Police Department. The public will see an increased amount of activity in that area, but police said there is no cause for alarm.
Traffic will continue to flow on the road, which runs pararell to state Highway 24 past the Lafayette Reservoir.
The scenario is intended to prepare emergency workers for a major earthquake or other disasters.
