The Peninsula enclave had been dethroned last year, after eight years at No. 1, by the Miami community of Fisher Island. It came back in a big way, with its median price jumping 29% to $10.725 million.
The other Bay Area ZIP code in the national top 10 is 94022 in Los Altos ($4.875 million).
Though prices hit a record in San Francisco, that city landed only three ZIP codes in the top 100 — down from its peak of 13 in 2019. The priciest is the Presidio Terrace neighborhood, at No. 70.

Before last week’s release of its 2026 report, Property Shark had acknowledged that Atherton was ascendant, having recorded five property sales of at least $30 million in the first six months of this year.
