OK, so maybe San Francisco gets the rep for going all-out for Pride Month. But what about the rest of the Bay Area? There\u2019s a veritable cornucopia of creative and fun Pride events on tap in communities throughout the region, from a hike celebrating queerness in the natural world in Point Reyes Station to a Pride bike ride in Livermore to a panoply of drag shows, street festivals and dance parties from Oakland to Scotts Valley. Here are just some of the events to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community a little closer to home throughout June and beyond.<\/p>\n

Clayton Pride Parade:<\/strong> 10 a.m.-3 p.m. May 31, Main Street, Clayton. Contra Costa County kicks off the party with a parade, followed by a festival in the park and remarks from local leaders. Santa Clara\u2019s 10th Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony:<\/strong> 11 a.m.-noon June 3, Santa Clara City Hall Quad Area, 1500 Warburton Ave., Santa Clara. The city invites the community to join the Santa Clara City Council for the ceremony. Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor, Gabrielle Antolovich of the Billy DeFrank Center and Sera Fernando of the County of Santa Clara Office of LGBTQ Affairs will be honorary guests. Alameda\u2019s Angels:<\/strong> 7-10 p.m. June 5, Faction Brewing, 2501 Monarch St., Alameda.
