The humans greeted them with violence.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the scenario that played out Thursday in Hollister, where several \u201crobotic assessment units\u201d are traversing the city and evaluating its pedestrian infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=821\">San Jose State students help build Christmas in the Park\u2019s future<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An unidentified person strolled up to one of the robots near West and 5th streets and \u201cintentionally knocked it onto its side,\u201d according to the Hollister Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Another incident happened near 4th and Line streets. Police said a second unidentified person appeared to hit two of the robots and pour a beer over one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Both incidents were captured by the robots\u2019 onboard camera systems, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Deployed and operated by Daxbot, the robots are evaluating sidewalks, pedestrian pathways and curb ramps, police said.
