A real estate mega-merger triggered the purchases of at least seven apartment complexes in the South Bay and East Bay for a combined total that tops $700 million, public documents show.<\/p>\n

As of Aug. 24, purchases related to the merger of real estate firms Avalon Bay and Equity Residential involved seven apartment complexes with a combined 1,843 residential units in Mountain View, Fremont, Campbell, Union City and Dublin, a review of multiple property databases shows.<\/p>\n

The merger created a new company called Vivmark Residential, valued at roughly $70 billion around the time of the deal\u2019s completion. Affiliates of Vivmark now own more than 180,000 rental apartments with another 10,000-plus units under construction.<\/p>\n

The Vivmark affiliates paid a combined $741.8 million for the seven apartment complexes, county documents show.<\/p>\n

Avalon Campbell at 508 Railway Ave. in Campbell totals 348 units and was purchased for $147.3 million.<\/p>\n

Avalon Towers on the Peninsula at 2400 West El Camino Real in Mountain View has 238 units. The deal, totaling $140.4 million, also included a mid-rise adjacent office building at 2440 El Camino.<\/p>\n

Avalon Fremont at 39939 Stevenson Common in Fremont totals 308 units and was bought for $124.3 million.<\/p>\n

Eaves Creekside at 151 Calderon Ave. in Mountain View totals 300 units and was acquired for $117.3 million.<\/p>\n

Eaves Fremont at 231 Woodcreek Common in Fremont contains 237 units and was bought for $88.9 million.<\/p>\n

Eaves Dublin at 7904 Fall Creek Road in Dublin has 204 units and was purchased for $64.6 million.<\/p>\n

Eaves Union City at 2175 Decoto Road contains 208 units and was acquired for $59.1 million.<\/p>\n
