Gavin Newsom\u2019s sprawling Sacramento-area mansion is up for sale.<\/p>\n<p>The 12,700-square-foot mansion in Fair Oaks \u2014 an unincorporated community in Sacramento County bordering the American River \u2014 has been listed for $7.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=7728\">Greg Papa to join NBC Sports Bay Area gameday 49ers coverage after KNBR layoff<\/a><\/p>\n<p>News of the listing, which is being handled by Sotheby\u2019s International Realty, was first reported by the Sacramento Bee on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The listing describes the seven-bedroom home at 7640 Tobia Way as a \u201cshowcase of Santa Barbara-inspired architecture\u201d that is \u201cprivately positioned along the bluffs on 8.2 acres.\u201d It boasts of amenities including a resort-style pool, hot tub, cold plunge, tennis court and 5,000-bottle wine cellar.<\/p>\n<p>The Newsoms purchased the mansion in December 2018 for $3.7 million shortly before Newsom took office as the 40th governor of California in January 2019, the Los Angeles Times reported. The state\u2019s first family had quickly ditched the historic governor\u2019s mansion.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Newsom, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, their four children and their family pets, including dogs and a rabbit, lived in Marin County. Newsom was raised in San Francisco and was the city\u2019s mayor from 2004 to 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom was California\u2019s lieutenant governor \u2014 a mostly ceremonial role that includes positions on several higher-education boards \u2014 from 2011 to 2019. In June, he accused the Department of Justice of launching a baseless investigation of him and his wife at Trump\u2019s direction. Siebel Newsom is a documentary filmmaker and in 2011 founded a nonprofit advocating for more women in leadership roles.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the Newsoms allowed reporters to view, but not copy, their tax returns from 2019 through their most recent filings for 2024. The returns showed they had earned at least $11 million since he took office.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Times, their reported income was highest in 2021 when they quietly sold their Marin County home for $5.9 million.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom\u2019s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a92026 Los Angeles Times.
