{"id":7143,"date":"2026-08-18T17:39:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T17:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=7143"},"modified":"2026-08-18T17:39:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T17:39:58","slug":"golden-state-valkyries-to-host-wnba-all-star-weekend-in-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=7143","title":{"rendered":"Golden State Valkyries to host WNBA All-Star weekend in 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p><span>SAN FRANCISCO \u2014 The WNBA All-Star Game is coming to the City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a year in which the Bay Area has been the epicenter of two of the biggest sporting events in the world\u00a0\u2014 the Super Bowl in February and the World Cup this summer \u2014 San Francisco kept the momentum rolling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=7141\">Large firework explosion damages East Bay home where racially charged outburst captured on video<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span> The WNBA announced Tuesday morning that the 2027 edition of the league\u2019s All-Star showcase will be played at Chase Center on July 31.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are thrilled to bring WNBA All-Star to the San Francisco Bay Area for the first time,\u201d WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a news release. \u201cThe Golden State Valkyries have brought incredible energy and excitement to the WNBA from the moment they were announced as an expansion team in 2023, and the response from fans across the Bay Area has been remarkable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cValkyries fans have embraced this team with an extraordinary level of passion and enthusiasm, and we can\u2019t wait to see that energy on full display for an unforgettable All-Star weekend next summer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The news follows Chase Center hosting the NBA All-Star Game in 2025 as well as the men\u2019s NCAA Tournament West Regional.
