For years, Hayward police have investigated Johnson as a suspect, seizing his phones, testing Hunter\u2019s clothing for DNA, and interviewing witnesses, but just recently convinced prosecutors to file a case.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 7, Johnson, a local barber, was charged with murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to court records. Police say an Infiniti with Hunter and two others drove up and appeared to be dropping him off at the address. He exited the car, began to argue with the other two occupants, and one of them shot and killed him.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson was identified as the shooter based on witness statements and digital evidence, authorities said. The other occupant of the Infiniti hasn\u2019t been publicly identified.
