Paul Simon and retirement did not prove to be a very good fit.<\/p>\n

Thus, Simon \u2014 who waved goodbye to fans during his so-called Farewell Tour in 2018 \u2014 added a bunch of 2026 dates to his A Quiet Celebration Tour.<\/p>\n

The latest portion of the trek \u2014 which builds on his 2025 concert dates \u2014 gets underway at Frost Amphitheater.<\/p>\n

The 84-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer \u2014 who was first inducted into the Hall as one half of Simon & Garfunkel in 1990 and then again in 2001 as a solo artist \u2014 performs June 3-4 at the lovely outdoor venue on the Stanford University campus.<\/p>\n

Showtime is 7 p.m. and tickets start at $93, paulsimon.com.<\/p>\n

The show will be divided into two parts \u2014 the latter of which will be surely be longer than the first.<\/p>\n

It opens with a complete performance of Simon\u2019s Grammy-nominated latest album, \u201cSeven Psalms,\u2019\u201d which only runs 33 minutes in its studio form.<\/p>\n

Following a brief intermission, Simon then launches into the second portion of the evening, which is filled with greatest hits and other fan favorites from both Simon\u2019s solo catalog and his work with Art Garfunkel. The setlists we\u2019ve seen have included such masterpieces as \u201cHomeward Bound,\u201d \u201cSlip Slidin\u2019 Away\u201d and \u201cThe Sound of Silence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simon\u2019s band for this tour includes his wife Edie Brickell (vocals), along with Mark Stewart (guitar), Bakithi Kumalo (bass), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Mick Rossi (piano, keys), Gyan Riley (guitar), Matt Chamberlain (drums), Nancy Stagnitta (flute), Caleb Burhans (viola) and Eugene Friesen (Cello).<\/p>\n
