He was 69.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=619\">Salesforce earnings can put AI fears to bed, give stock a lift<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The death of Deny, who appeared in the Netflix hit\u2019s third and fourth seasons, was confirmed Monday by his daughters via a statement to French outlet TF1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with deep emotion that we announce the passing of Pierre Deny, which occurred this Monday following a sudden and severe case of ALS,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>The neurological disease, also known as Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease, causes muscle weakness and can affect the muscles used to move, speak, eat and breathe, according to the Mayo Clinic.<\/p>\n<p>Deny debuted on Darren Star-created \u201cEmily in Paris\u201d in 2022 as Louis de L\u00c3\u00a9on, the father to Paul Forman\u2019s Nicolas, late in season 3, and reprised the role in the first two episodes of the fourth season.<\/p>\n<p>Deny started in the theater and made his screen debut in a 1978 short, \u201cNoctuor,\u201d followed in 1982 by first feature, \u201cThe Bourgeois Gentleman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=617\">Micron tops $1 trillion in value as UBS says stock could double<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He was best known for starring as Philippe Kremen in the television series, \u201cUne Femme D\u2019Honneur\u201d from 1999 to 2008, and the 2008 series \u201cCinq Soeurs,\u201d as well as the 2012 film, \u201cAnother Woman\u2019s Life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deny also appeared in over 300 episodes of \u201cTomorrow Is Ours,\u201d between 2017 and 2023.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Deny\u2019s last screen credits were both television appearances from 2025, in an episode each of \u201cLe Fil d\u2019Ariane\u201d and \u201cCamping Paradise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deny\u2019s death from ALS comes just months after \u201cEuphoria\u201d and \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d star Eric Dane died in February at age 53.
