Red carpet treatment<\/h4>\n

The\u00a0NAFA Film Festival opens Friday, Aug. 7,at the California Theatre in downtown San Jose \u00a0with\u00a0Red Carpet and International Awards Night,\u00a0followed by film premieres, masterclasses, workshops, panel discussions and meet and greet opportunities with film makers and celebrities from Bollywood.<\/p>\n

The theme for this year\u2019s South Asian and international cinema showcase is \u201cHonoring Her Canvas,\u201d pays tribute to women creators whose artistry shapes the world of film, culture and community.<\/p>\n

Little Italy San Jose\u2019s fifth annual \u201cBoss of the Sauce\u201d tournament is set for Sunday, Aug. 16, noon-4 p.m., when eight Italian restaurants will compete for the title of best sauce. Participating restaurants offer their signature sauces for tasting\u2014pasta included\u2014and attendees vote for their favorite. Cocktails, beer, wine and soda will be available for purchase from the Italian Cellar.<\/p>\n

The tournament takes place at Little Italy San Jose\u2019s Museum Piazza, 323 Sharks Way. Tickets are $25 at https:\/\/bit.ly\/4wRbQPJ.<\/p>\n
