Rather than working out in his native Florida, the All-Pro stayed in the Bay Area and is expected to be at 100% as the season begins.<\/p>\n<p>He and the rest of the 49ers will begin training camp without head coach Kyle Shanahan, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a recent car collision.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 49ers general manager John Lynch said linebacker Fred Warner is also expected to be ready to go. Warner missed much of last season after fracturing his right ankle last October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe basically was a healthy player, just training this offseason,\u201d Lynch said Saturday during a news conference at Levi\u2019s Stadium. \u201cHe\u2019s obviously given some care to the ankle, but in his mind, that\u2019s behind him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lynch also shared that a slew of high-profile veterans will begin the preseason on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.<\/p>\n<p>Tight end George Kittle tore his Achilles in January, is one of four players on the list. Kittle gave himself a lofty goal of returning to the field in Week 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeorge\u2019s rehab\u00a0 is coming tremendous,\u201d Lynch said. \u201cHe\u2019s doing really well, and that\u2019s very exciting. He\u2019s doing everything possible to be ready for Week 1.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=5438\">Marin rocker named new owner of Fairfax\u2019s Wu Wei Tea Temple<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Defensive lineman Mykel Williams, last season\u2019s first-round pick, tore his ACL in Week 6, and like Kittle, hopes to be back for the start of the regular season on Sept. 11, when the 49ers play the Rams in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Mykel, he\u2019s making every effort to be ready for Week 1, and we\u2019ll see if that\u2019s a reality, and we\u2019ll let the markers and the medical staff dictate that,\u201d Lynch said.<\/p>\n<p>His fellow draftee and defensive lineman Alfred Collins will likely need a little more time to recover from shoulder surgery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlfred Collins will start on the PUP, but we anticipate him back in about the second window. Don\u2019t hold us to that timeline, but that\u2019s the plan right now,\u201d said Lynch.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Though Lynch was happy to share his thoughts on those players, he chose his words carefully when asked about embattled receiver Brandon Aiyuk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrandon is on a left-squad designation, as such, he\u2019s not on our 90-man roster,\u201d Lynch said, later adding, \u201cAt the forefront of our thoughts with any player is their well-being, and so I\u2019ll just leave it at that.
