CBS announced its cancellation in July, citing financial reasons, though many were left wondering whether the host\u2019s cutting comedy, often aimed at Trump, was a factor as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cColbert is finally finished at CBS,\u201d the president wrote in post shared on Truth Social just after 2 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person,\u201d he continued. \u201cYou could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he\u2019s finally gone!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rated number one in its slot, the \u201cLate Show\u201d consistently beat out its network competitors, including NBC\u2019s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and ABC\u2019s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, throughout its run.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=475\">Memorial Day check-in: SF Giants hope miserable start offers valuable lessons<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trump also took aim at Colbert\u2019s counterparts, warning that it was the \u201c\u2018Beginning of the End\u2019 for untalented, nasty, highly overpaid, not funny, and very poorly rated Late Night Television Hosts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cOthers, of even less talent, to soon follow. May they all Rest in Peace!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colbert ended his 11 years as host of the \u201cTonight Show\u201d with a star-studded roster of cameos and guest Sir Paul McCartney.
