{"id":4438,"date":"2026-07-13T17:39:02","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T17:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4438"},"modified":"2026-07-13T17:39:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T17:39:02","slug":"woman-killed-after-tesla-crashes-catches-fire-near-highway-113","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4438","title":{"rendered":"Woman killed after Tesla crashes, catches fire near Highway 113"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>A 59-year-old Dixon woman died early Saturday after her Tesla left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire near the intersection of Hawkins Road and State Route 113, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4437\">Former Bay Area resident sentenced to life in prison for killing 13-year-old girl in 1982<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The crash was reported just after midnight when a passerby called 911 after spotting a gray Tesla Model 3 in the brush off the roadway near Highway 113.<\/p>\n<p>When CHP officers arrived, they found the female driver on the ground with no pulse and the Tesla in flames. Officers began CPR until they were relieved by Dixon Fire Department personnel. The woman was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, where she later died.<\/p>\n<p>The Solano County Coroner\u2019s Office identified the driver as\u00a0Rosa Morales, 59, of Dixon.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4435\">322,000 Californians sign up to have data brokers delete their personal information<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to CHP, Morales was traveling eastbound on Hawkins Road when she failed to realize the road ended at Highway 113. The Tesla continued through the intersection and collided with trees and brush before catching fire.<\/p>\n<p>A dog found inside the vehicle was rescued by first responders.<\/p>\n<p>The crash and resulting vehicle fire closed the area for approximately three hours while emergency crews extinguished the fire and investigators processed the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
