{"id":4411,"date":"2026-07-13T12:38:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T12:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4411"},"modified":"2026-07-13T12:38:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T12:38:06","slug":"archer-aviation-agrees-to-lease-south-bay-tech-campus-as-company-expands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4411","title":{"rendered":"Archer Aviation agrees to lease South Bay tech campus as company expands"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>MORGAN HILL \u2014 Archer Aviation has struck a deal to lease about a half-million square feet of tech and industrial space in Morgan Hill, marking a wide-ranging expansion for the maker of air taxis.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4409\">Bay Area events calendar for July 17-23 weekly editions<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tech company leased roughly 501,300 square feet during the first week of July in a business hub known as Cochrane Technology Center, several sources with knowledge of the rental transaction told this news organization.<\/p>\n<p>This deal fits a pattern of expansion by Archer Aviation, which has widened its footprint in a big way in recent years, including multiple leases of office space in north San Jose.<\/p>\n<p>The Morgan Hill industrial hub that Archer leased is near the interchange of U.S. Highway 101 and Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill and is owned by an affiliate of Trammell Crow, Santa Clara County real estate files show.<\/p>\n<p>The San Jose-based electric taxi maker took all five buildings in the tech hub, according to the sources.<\/p>\n<p>Trammell Crow completed construction of Cochrane Technology Park in October 2024 but hadn\u2019t found a tenant until the Archer deal was concluded in early July.<\/p>\n<p>The five buildings that Archer leased have addresses of 18105, 18145, 18185, 18225, and 18265 De Paul Dr.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4408\">Lawsuit claims Stanford injected woman with wrong imaging dye, and now she can barely walk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t immediately clear when Archer Aviation might move into the buildings it has leased.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>During the one-year period that ended in March, Archer Aviation produced $1.9 million in revenue but lost $742.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Archer Aviation, however, hopes to generate significant increases in revenue starting as soon as this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made tremendous progress towards beginning operations in the US later this year,\u201d Archer Aviation\u2019s chief executive officer Adam Goldstein stated in May regarding the company\u2019s January-through-March first quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The tech company also stated in May that it aims to push beyond the air taxi sector.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cArcher is far more than an air taxi company,\u201d Goldstein said. \u201cOur defense and AI software efforts are advancing quickly, and they\u2019re opening up an even bigger future for us.
