Now they can now include ace Logan Webb <\/span><span>jousting with a media member<\/span><span> and fans via social media <\/span><span>to the list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4296\">10 things San Jose says residents should keep out of recycling bins<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It started after Wednesday\u2019s 10-0 loss, when Webb, who started the series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays, responded to a post on the social media platform X from KNBR reporter Jack Loder, who had posted a video critical of the Giants\u2019 performance and lack of team leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Webb gave up five runs in the first inning of the loss, the only runs he allowed in seven innings.<\/p>\n<p>Loder said, in part, that \u201cWhen someone is supposed to be your ace, you think that they\u2019re going to give you the best chance to win every week. Logan Webb had an awesome June, he was bad in April, he missed most of May. I\u2019ve said over the years that he\u2019s been a great Giant, like I\u2019ve really appreciated his Giants tenure. But there\u2019s always been a little bit lacking.\u201d He also suggested a lack of leadership from the team\u2019s veterans and highest-paid players.<\/p>\n<p>During another point in the video, Loder said Webb \u201cmight be searching his name on Twitter after the game \u2014 who knows \u2014 which is never a great look.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>Then hours after the game, Webb replied to Loder\u2019s post, writing, \u201cYou know what\u2019s sad is they allow people like you in the locker room.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As of Thursday afternoon, Webb\u2019s X account appears to be <\/span><span>offline at its previous username. <\/span><span>SFGATE reported that <\/span><span>Webb took down his account<\/span><span> Wednesday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>His <\/span><span>Instagram account is still active.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Webb\u2019s post was aggregated elsewhere, creating a new distraction for a team that went 16 games under .500 for the first time this season and is just one game above its opponents on Thursday night, the Colorado Rockies, for the worst record in the National League.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a separate post on X, Webb replied to a fan who had criticized him, writing, \u201cHonestly you probably don\u2019t know anything about anything some loser on the couch that couldn\u2019t make his little league team.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4294\">Judge tosses remnants of Proud Boys seditious conspiracy case after Trump\u2019s broad clemency<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>He also responded to KNBR host Adam Copeland and multiple other fans,<\/span><span> according to one online report.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Webb did not speak to reporters before Thursday\u2019s game. Manager Tony Vitello addressed the posts on KNBR Thursday morning and again while meeting with the media before Thursday\u2019s game.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>\u201cHonestly, I don\u2019t know anything about it,\u201d Vitello said on the air Thursday morning. \u201cAnd kind of like some of that other stuff earlier on, I\u2019m not educated enough to speak intelligently on some of those things, which I think is a good thing. Maybe he came from a place where he felt like he was defending the team or himself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI\u2019ve just always been a big believer in that the only opinions that should matter are the people wearing the uniform.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Vitello was more aware of the controversy when he spoke with reporters and fleshed out his thoughts despite noting he\u2019d rather move on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt\u2019s not my world,\u201d Vitello said in response to a question from the Bay Area News Group. \u201cI\u2019m thankful that it\u2019s not my world, so let\u2019s kind of focus more on trying to do our part as a coaching staff to help our guys play consistently well a couple days in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd then inevitably you\u2019re not going to play your best every day. What does it look like when we don\u2019t play well?
