{"id":4281,"date":"2026-07-11T16:10:30","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T16:10:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4281"},"modified":"2026-07-11T16:10:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T16:10:30","slug":"chevron-relocates-east-bay-jobs-to-texas-as-company-downsizes-locally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4281","title":{"rendered":"Chevron relocates East Bay jobs to Texas as company downsizes locally"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>SAN RAMON \u2014 Chevron will shift nearly 200 jobs out of the Bay Area to Texas as the company pushes to downsize in California and expand in the Lone Star State.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4279\">Opus One winemaker plans to retire after 25 years<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The company reported in a WARN notice it will move 180 jobs by Sept. 8 out of an office site in the Bishop Ranch neighborhood in San Ramon, according to the state Employment Development Department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn connection with Chevron\u2019s previously announced relocation of its corporate headquarters to Houston, Tex., Chevron is providing advance notice of the planned relocation of employees from its Chevron Lakeside location,\u201d the company stated.<\/p>\n<p>The positions affected were noted as \u201crelocations,\u201d not terminations or layoffs.<\/p>\n<p>Chevron, however, didn\u2019t specify whether the affected workers would continue to be employed at the company if they chose not to move to Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4277\">Recipe: Try a vegetarian spin on the iconic 1980s dish, Chicken Marbella<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis notice addresses the planned relocation of approximately 180 employees in 2026,\u201d Chevron stated. \u201cEmployees may also voluntarily choose to move earlier than scheduled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In October 2025, Chevron reduced staffing in San Ramon by 68 positions, bringing the total downsizing in the city to 248.<\/p>\n<p>Chevron\u2019s refining operations in California, including in Richmond, weren\u2019t affected by the downsizing decision, as reported to the EDD.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4275\">31 miles, 9 Taco Bell items and the hot sun?
