Now Pinson Rodriguez is hoping a newly created Team Pearl Tip Line will help her cause.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: Ten years later family, friends still seek kidnapped Bay Area teen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since marking the 10-year anniversary of Pearl\u2019s disappearance with a gathering in Vallejo on May 25 which brought family, friends and others to the pedestrian bridge at 1000 Lewis Avenue, Pinson Rodriguez has adjusted her focus away from Vallejo. Instead, she has adjusted her focus on where Castro and Pearl Pinson were during a 22-hour period on May 25 and 26, 2016, in an area between Roblar Road in Petaluma and the 76 gas station in Bodega Bay.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s hoping that a tip line \u2014 (707) 685-6102 \u2014 can help create some discussions on where Pearl may have been during that time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI created this number because I understand that some people may feel more comfortable speaking with someone other than law enforcement first,\u201d Pinson Rodriguez told the Times-Herald. \u201cOthers may be not be sure if what they remember is important or may have been hesitant to come forward over the years. I never want anyone to feel like it\u2019s too late to share information. Even the smallest detail could help bring us closer to answers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the Pearl Team Tip Line provides another way for people to share information or ask questions, we continue to encourage everyone with information to also report their tips directly to the Solano County Sheriff\u2019s Office,\u201d Pinson Rodriguez continued. \u201cIf someone contacts Pearl Team first, we will encourage them to report their information to law enforcement as well so it can become part of the official investigation. All tips shared with Pearl Team will be kept anonymous unless the person providing the information chooses otherwise. We respect every individual\u2019s privacy and want people to feel safe and comfortable coming forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sadly as of July 8, no tips have been shared with the hotline.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>On May 25, 2016, Pearl Pinson was kidnapped by an armed man who dragged her to a waiting car while she walked to school. The kidnapper, later identified as 19-year-old Fernando Castro, had no known connection to Pearl or her family. Castro died in a shootout with police in Southern California the next day \u2014 leaving the family with plenty of unanswered questions, and no sign of Pearl.<\/p>\n<p>Pinson\u2019s kidnapping is sadly nothing new. According to the Child Crime and Prevention Center website, a child goes missing or is abducted in the United States every 40 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>According to that same report, approximately 840,000 people are reported missing each year \u2014 between 85 and 90 percent of these are children, according to the FBI. While most reports of missing or abducted children are resolved within hours, others involve situations where a child goes missing permanently or for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n<p>During the investigation for Pearl, detectives told Pinson Rodriguez that on the day Castro was killed they found handwritten notes and directions to Willow Creek Road in Bodega Bay. I have no clue,\u201d Pinson Rodriguez told the Times-Herald on Wednesday. \u201cBut when looking at the investigation I noticed there was a 22-hour gap where nobody knew where they were. Honestly I think he stopped at that gas station just because he was nearly out of gas. But there is a 22-hour gap there I\u2019m trying to find more information about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A flyer has also been created and shared in numerous Petaluma Facebook groups. Along with the information above concerning Pearl and Castro, it also lets the public know that Castro was known to have enjoyed fishing and asks if anyone had seen him enjoy the recreation in nearby locations. The flyer also asks the public for photos, videos, receipts, surveillance footage or just memories from around the 22-hour period on May 25 and 26, 2016. The flyer also asks if any fisherman, campers, hikers, residents, workers or travelers noticed something unusual during that time period.<\/p>\n<p>The email for the Pearl team is 2016PearlTeam@gmail.com, while the Facebook group is for Rose Pinson-Rodriguez. The WhatsApp location is https:\/\/wa.me\/message\/2YG4IFVLM33JG1.<\/p>\n<p>Possible unconfirmed points of interest for the kidnapping include Roblar Road, Two Rock, Valley Ford Road, Valley Ford, Valley Ford School Road, Dillian Beach Road, Fallon, Tomales, Bay Hill Road, Estero Road, Middle Road, Whitaker Bluff Road, Carmondy Road, Bodega Highway, Gericke Road, Bay Flat Road, Doran Beach Road, Salmon Creek Beach, Coleman Valley Road, Goat Rock Road and Goat Rock Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Pinson Rodriguez said that she has been to a number of hiking areas and points of interest in those areas, including the 76 gas station, but not for about seven years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI walked the trails and a little riverbank area, but all it did was give me anxiety,\u201d Pinson Rodriguez told the Times-Herald. \u201cThe new tip line and flyer gives me some optimism, but it also still gives me anxiety as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, from the evidence that has been given me over the last 10 years by detectives, I\u2019d say there is an 80 percent chance that I won\u2019t see Pearl again,\u201d Pinson-Rodriguez said. \u201cBut I\u2019m holding on to that 20 percent. I\u2019m really holding on to that 20 percent that she shows up alive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On a brighter note, Pinson Rodriguez said she\u2019s spoken with California State Assemblymember Lori Wilson a few times recently on making progress with possibly honoring Pearl with a name on the pedestrian bridge near Lewis Road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels good to know that the city and state are now helping and want to create something in her memory,\u201d Pinson Rodriguez said. \u201cI am incredibly grateful that Assemblywoman Wilson took time out of her busy schedule to hear my thoughts, and to listen to my mission honoring Pearl\u2019s memory, and to discuss ways we can continue raising awareness about child safety and abduction prevention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=4109\">Backyard micro-restaurants are finally legal in parts of the Bay Area.
