How do you like your mushrooms?<\/p>\n

The cooks at the Mushroom Mardi Gras, now in its 45th year, celebrate Morgan Hill\u2019s crop by serving them stuffed, deep-fried, grilled, sauteed, marinated and more \u2014 and always with a side of live music.<\/p>\n

The festival runs until 7 p.m. today, May 23, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 24, in and around the Downtown Morgan Hill Amphitheater.<\/p>\n

Besides a full lineup of music, dance and other entertainment, the event will feature live cooking demos on the Chef Stage, a children\u2019s fun zone and 200 arts, crafts and product booths.<\/p>\n

At the \u201cMushroom Experience,\u201d located in the Community & Cultural Center, attendees can learn about the health benefits of mushrooms and how they\u2019re grown, buy a kit for growing mushrooms at home and try a taste of mushroom beer.<\/p>\n

Run by a nonprofit, the Mushroom Mardi Gras has education as its mission. Festival proceeds go toward scholarships.<\/p>\n

Bay Area KidFest:<\/strong> The region\u2019s largest children\u2019s festival returns for its 35th year with two days of stage shows, rides and a family dance party. Kids can meet characters including Super Mario, Princess Peach and Olaf. Kidfest runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Memorial Day at the Concord Pavilion. Admission is $9 per person with the donation
\nof a can of food to the Monument Crisis Center or $10 without a can. Seniors 65-plus and kids under 24 months get in free. On Sunday, attendees can donate two cans and get $2 off one ticket. Lumberjack Days:<\/strong> Today and Sunday, the Roaring Camp Railroad in the Santa Cruz Mountains is hosting an inaugural Lumberjack Days event, a tribute to logging history. Trained loggers will \u201cbattle timber and time,\u201d the organizers say, \u201cas they face off in classic lumberjack events\u201d \u2014 chopping, sawing, throwing and more. For attendees, there will be music, lawn games, bounce houses and food\/drink available for purchase.
