While performing in Saratoga Springs, Grammy-winning country crooner Jelly Roll broke his silence about news that he\u2019d filed for divorce from wife Bunnie Xo, who he said \u201cwill be my best friend forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cI Am Not Okay\u201d singer, born Jason Bradley DeFord, told the upstate New York crowd that \u201cthe internet is a liar,\u201d according to a video he posted to his 5.8 million Instagram followers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the only time, and the only city I\u2019m gonna speak about this. So break your camera phones out now,\u201d said Jelly Roll. \u201cMe and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today. Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

That podcast episode referred to Bunnie\u2019s \u201cThe Divorce\u201d episode of \u201cDumb Blonde,\u201d in which she denied she\u2019s moved on with Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger, per Us Weekly.<\/p>\n

The singer said Bunnie Xo, real name Alisa DeFord, \u201cwill be my best friend forever. This is the only time I will ever speak about it. Bunnie, I love you, baby. Thank you for those 10 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the years of their marriage, from summer 2016 until he filed for divorce last month, were \u201cincredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship. And 20 beyond that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWith that being said, cheers, everybody,\u201d he concluded, thanking the crowd.<\/p>\n

Though Jelly Roll said infidelity didn\u2019t play a role in their split, he and Bunnie both respectively discussed him cheating during the union. The \u201cSon of a Sinner\u201d singer admitted to it on an October 2025 episode of the \u201cHuman School\u201d podcast, while Bunnie addressed it in her recent memoir, \u201cStripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish our story would\u2019ve went in the way that it never had an affair,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cI\u2019m proud of who we are today. I truly am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bunnie, meanwhile, told Us in February that the experience \u201ccompletely changed who we are as humans and how we looked at love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a part of what we\u2019ve survived,\u201d she said elsewhere in the interview. \u201cWe choose to be together every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
