When they arrived on the scene around 1 a.m., the home on Mohican Road was already engulfed in flames. Inside, first responders discovered the couple, each of them in critical condition and unresponsive.<\/p>\n<p>Despite efforts to revive them, both Paul and Sheila died shortly after being rescued from the blaze.<\/p>\n<p>Their official causes of death were not provided, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The couple\u2019s daughter, Kyle Avery, confirmed the sad news with a post on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=2663\">Lutnick\u2019s Anthropic crackdown claims new power over AI models<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m devastated to share that our parents, Paul and Sheila Garry Avery, passed away early this morning,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWe loved them so much, and they loved us so much, and nobody ever had to wonder if that was so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added: \u201cWe\u2019re grateful to the Blairstown Fire Department for their efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paul Avery kicked off his acting career in the 1970s, appearing in1972\u2019s \u201cStanley\u201d and 1978\u2019s \u201cSuperman\u201d before going on to play Hughie, the bartender at Foxy\u2019s, on \u201cAll My Children.\u201d He starred on the soap for 12 years, and he additionally appeared in more than 300 commercials, according to Soap Opera Digest. His credits include appearances in \u201cThree\u2019s Company,\u201d \u201cSoap\u201d and \u201cTales from the Darkside,\u201d as well.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In addition to acting, Paul had writing bylines in the New Jersey Herald, Blairstown Press and Warren County Magazine.
