SAN JOSE \u2014 The Sharks on Thursday traded two of their picks in next week\u2019s NHL Draft to the Boston Bruins for forward Andre Gasseau, an unsigned draft choice, and a fourth-round pick in this year\u2019s draft.<\/p>\n

The Sharks are getting the 120th overall selection from the Bruins and are sending a fourth-round selection (104th overall), which originally belonged to Florida, and a fifth-round selection\u00a0(157th overall), which originally belonged to Montreal.<\/p>\n

If the Sharks do not sign Gasseau, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 224 pounds, by\u00a0 Aug. 15, then he will become an unrestricted free agent.<\/p>\n

Gasseau, who turns 23 next month, was the captain at Boston College this past season and finished fourth on the team in scoring with 23 points in 23 games. A Garden Grove, California native, Gasseau was originally a seventh-round draft pick by the Bruins in 2021.<\/p>\n

Gasseau was teammates with Sharks forward Will Smith on the 2023-24 Boston College team that captured the Hockey East regular-season and tournament championship titles and advanced to the NCAA national championship game.<\/p>\n
