Here\u2019s how to tell if it\u2019s a scam<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cReal Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d star\u00a0confirmed her exit from the event on Wednesday in a joint statement with the City of West Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to have been considered for this recognition and appreciative of the support I have received from members of the community throughout the years,\u201d Hilton said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy reason for wanting to be involved in this year\u2019s WeHo Pride weekend was simple: to celebrate, support, and share in the joy of a community that means a great deal to so many people,\u201d she continued. \u201cPride is, and always will be, about celebrating and uplifting LGBTQ+ voices, experiences, and achievements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hilton went on to say that she respected the discourse swirling around her appointment as grand marshal.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=1194\">Iranian-French cartoonist and filmmaker Marjane Satrapi, author of \u2018Persepolis,\u2019 dies at 56<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In announcing her participation, city officials called the reality star \u201ca vocal and visible supporter of the community\u201d who has used her \u201cplatform to champion LGBTQ+ rights.\u201d The social media post was quickly flooded with comments, many of them pointing out that Hilton is a Republican, \u201cMAGA \u201d and \u201cTrump supporter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWas Melania not available?\u201d one commenter quipped, referring to the First Lady.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton has also faced renewed scrutiny over claims from her \u201cReal Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d co-star Erika Jayne, who accused her in 2022 of using a homophobic slur during a cast trip to Aspen.
