{"id":119,"date":"2026-05-21T15:37:52","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T15:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=119"},"modified":"2026-05-21T15:37:52","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T15:37:52","slug":"waymo-rolls-its-driverless-car-service-deeper-into-the-south-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=119","title":{"rendered":"Waymo rolls its driverless car service deeper into the South Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>SAN JOSE \u2014 Waymo is rolling its driverless car service deeper into the South Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcitydigest.com\/?p=117\">Los Gatos: David Kinch\u2019s Aptos restaurant expanding to the North 40<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the Mountain View-based company, which was already serving central San Jose, started picking up riders in the San Jose neighborhoods of Willow Glen and Vista Park, as well as the West Valley cities of Campbell and Cupertino.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion adds roughly 60 square miles of coverage, bringing the company\u2019s Bay Area footprint to more than 330 square miles, Waymo said in a statement to the Bay Area News Group.<\/p>\n<p>The move is part of a broader national push. In the coming weeks, the company plans to grow its service in several other cities, including Atlanta, Houston and Austin.
