It turns out that Lady Gaga wasn’t just a visitor — but possibly a resident of the Bay Area — when she paid tribute to San Francisco while performing at Chase Center in July 2025 as her Mayhem Ball world tour was getting underway.

“I was touring clubs all over the world, and, you know, some places that I went, they just didn’t understand me, you know?” Gaga said, recalling how she found instant acceptance early in her career, as a 19-year-old, playing at Bay Area clubs. In other cities, she said, “They loved the songs, but they were like, ‘she’s interesting.’” But in the Bay Area, she said, “I was accepted and I was embraced.”

Apparently, Gaga has long felt such an affinity to the Bay Area that she and her fiancé Michael Polansky have relocated from the Los Angeles area and are making a home here — and not just for themselves but for their new baby. The new parents were photographed last week on a walk with the infant in a front carrier, snuggled close to the superstar.
Page Six published the photos on Friday and said the couple were spotted somewhere in Northern California, but it’s possible the new parents were out on a stroll somewhere in Marin County. The Daily Mail and other outlets have reported over the past year that Gaga, 40, and Polansky, 42, have moved into a $10 million home in Marin County, with the Daily Mail describing how she essentially went into hiding and was laying low in the area following the end of her Mayhem Ball tour in April.
With the arrival of the baby, it now appears that Gaga and Polansky spent the summer in the Bay Area, preparing to become parents, the Daily Mail reported. TMZ, however, reported that Gaga and Polansky have not relocated to Marin County but have been regular visitors. But according to reports, the Grammy and Oscar winner had become a presence in Marin County long before.
Going back to June 2025, a month before Gaga performed in San Francisco, the San Francisco Standard reported on a number of sightings of her in Marin County, with tips pouring in that the New York City native and Polansky, a long-time San Francisco-based tech investor and venture capitalist, were possibly living in either Ross or in Mill Valley.
Employees at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur told the Standard they had “frequently” seen Gaga stop in. They agreed that it was an “open secret” that Gaga had a home in Marin County, though they couldn’t agree on whether the home was in Ross or in Mill Valley.
Online records show that Polansky has owned a home in Mill Valley — a relatively modest Craftsman — since 2019, the Daily Mail said. The Standard also reported checking out an estate in Ross that is rumored to be the couple’s new family home. While the outlet would not identify its location, the home appeared to be suitable for a superstar in need of privacy and with a reported net worth of around $900 million. It’s a sprawling, 17,000-square-foot “rustic yet modern” mansion on 5 acres, set far back behind walls, gates, rolling lawns and mature trees, as the Daily Mail also said.
Prior to the news that Gaga (whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) had become a new mom, the Daily Mail raised questions about why she hadn’t been seen in public since May. The outlet speculated that perhaps she and Polansky had eloped, while also reporting that she had become “so secretive” about her whereabouts that even her inner circle had been left in the dark.
But her whereabouts apparently weren’t so mysterious to people in Marin County, the Daily Mail acknowledged.

“There are tons of Lady Gaga sightings all over Marin and everyone loves her, she has become a local,” one resident told the Daily Mail recently. Among the sightings: Gaga sipping red wine and sampling king salmon tartare at the Corner Bar in Mill Valley, shopping at Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop store in Larkspur, working out at FitLab Strong in Fairfax and enjoying hikes on Mount Tamalpais.
“I sat next to her at the Corner Bar in mid June,” one Mill Valley resident told the Daily Mail. “She was at the back bar and drinking a red wine from France, she was very friendly and seemed to be in a great mood.”
‘No one really recognized her, no one asked for an autograph,” the person continued. “It’s not that kind of town, people are too rich and powerful to do gawking fan stuff.”
Another resident claimed to have seen Gaga at the 2AM Club, a famous dive bar, in Mill Valley. “She is very sweet and seems to really like Marin,” the person said. “She said had relocated to Ross from Southern California and was thrilled about it.”
Of course, the reports of Gaga sipping wine or hanging out at the 2AM club may not square with the idea of her being pregnant. But that’s another topic of discussion on online forums.
Meanwhile, as much as Gaga is known for guarding her privacy, she has been open about wanting to marry Polansky and start a family, though not necessarily in that order. A source told the Daily Mail that she had always planned to settle down in her 40s. She also told Rolling Stone last year: “What I want most is to be a mother and I am sure that he will also be a great father. We are so excited about this.”
Gaga and Polansky have been together for six years after meeting in 2019 at a star-studded 40th birthday party in Los Angeles for tech entrepreneur Sean Parker. In early 2020, the Grammy and Oscar winner made the relationship Instagram official by posting a photo of the two of them on a yacht, cuddling. At the time, her caption read, “We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you’re the best!”
Gaga revealed their engagement in 2024, during the Paris Olympics, where she repeatedly introduced Polansky as her fiancé. Ahead of her Mayhem Ball tour, she also credited Polansky with encouraging her to return to her core values as an artist and to make pop music that people can dance to.
