For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Sept. 7-12.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

On to the nominees:
Dorsa Amirkhany, Menlo School tennis: The sophomore went 5-0 at the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles spots as the Knights placed fifth in the Golden State Classic, featuring the state’s best teams in a 32-team doubles tournament co-hosted by Menlo.
Noelle Babbage, Prospect water polo: The sophomore scored 27 goals in five games last week, including seven in a 17-5 victory over Sobrato and six each against Willow Glen and Santa Clara. She is second in the Central Coast Section with 33 season goals.
Ada Bielinska, Mountain View cross country: Bielinska won the varsity 2 race at the Lowell Invitational by covering the 3.0-mile course at Golden Gate Park in 16:56.0, the second-fastest time of the day while the Spartans recorded the day’s second-fastest team time.

Carmella Carone, Hercules flag football: In a 13-6 loss to Jesse Bethel, Carone intercepted three passes, had six flag pulls, and caught three passes for 61 yards. She also returned four punts for 75 yards, with two reaching inside the 5-yard line.
Sophie Dhillon, Fremont-Sunnyvale field hockey: The freshman scored three goals and had two assists in an 8-0 victory over Lynbrook that lifted the Firebirds’ record to 5-1. Dhillon has a team-leading six goals.
Haruka Koide, San Mateo volleyball: The sophomore setter had 11 aces and 21 assists in the Bearcats’ sweep at South San Francisco during a 3-3 week. Koide has 21 aces this season and is averaging 8.0 assists per set.
Lorelei Fairclough, Las Lomas cross country: The junior won the varsity small schools race at the Ed Sias Invitational, covering the 2.0-mile course at Hidden Valley Park in 12:05.6, the fastest time of the day among 422 runners in five races.
Paige Gravendaal Chase, College Park water polo: The sophomore scored 30 goals in five games, helping the Falcons to a 4-1 record. Gravendaal Chase scored seven each in victories over Bella Vista and Foothill.
U’ilani Wells, Notre Dame-San Jose flag football: In leading the Regents to a 4-1 record at the Milpitas Invitational, the junior caught 20 passes for 301 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Wells intercepted four passes, returning one for a 70-yard score, had 16 flag pulls and 12 passes defended.
Charlotte Wolfe, Los Altos flag football: The junior caught 21 passes for 273 yards and two scores as the Eagles rolled to a 5-0 record during the week. Wolfe leads the CCS in receiving yards with 466 on 37 catches.
